Bite Into Maine

Variety served with a side of stunning views

Named one of the best Food Trucks in the country by Time Out USA

You’d be hard pressed to find a, “Best Lobster Rolls in Portland,” list that doesn’t include Bite Into Maine. Sharing a home with the famed Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth’s Fort Williams Park, this shack overachieves in both its dramatic setting and unrivaled variety.

What To Order

While Bite Into Maine offers other crustacean-filled creations like a tempting lobster grilled cheese (and a mac n’ cheese grilled cheese for those without a dietary care in the world), the lobster roll is what you really want to sink your teeth into. Choose from six different lobster rolls styles, including the Maine (mayo and chives), Connecticut (warm with butter on top), Picnic (coleslaw, butter, celery salt), Wasabi (wasabi mayo), Chipotle (smoky chipotle mayo), or Curry (yellow indian curry mayo).

While we certainly give ourselves a license to recommend (try the Curry and Connecticut), you don’t have to take our word for it. Bite Into Maine has made it on, “Best of,” lists from national publications like Conde Taste Traveler and Food & Wine, as well as local juggernaut Down East Magazine

Where To Go

There are three locations of this award-winning food truck in addition to the aforementioned original, including at local favorite Allagash Brewing Company in Portland and the newly opened Commissary in Scarborough. We encourage you to indulge if you’re at either satellite outpost, but if it’s the authentic Bite Into Maine experience you’re after, be sure to spend an afternoon eating and exploring at the Fort Williams location. It’s one of the most photographed places in Maine for a reason.
